The Many Editions of Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom!

Having been pushed back to January 19, 2018, it seems the hype train behind BANDAI NAMCO and LEVEL-5’s sequel to the original Ni no KuniNi no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom – is still chugging along splendidly. Now we have even more wonderful news to share about the upcoming JRPG for gamers in Asia.

There will be three different versions of the game up for pre-order, namely the Standard, Prince’s, and King’s Editions! As the names suggest, these different tiers will reward you with in-game items, physical rewards, and for the King’s Edition, a really beautiful diorama.

STANDARD EDITION

If you purchase the Standard Edition on Day 1 at retail, you will also be getting an in-game reward DLC of a Special Sword Set of 5 containing The Jade Katana, Siren’s Sabre, Cloudcutter, The Bleeding Edge, and Greenling Glaive, and a Ni no Kuni II Tote bag (available at participating retail stores). Digital purchases will get you the DLC as well.

PRINCE EDITION

Moving on, the Prince’s Edition will get the same DLC reward, a Season Pass (more on that later), an exclusive and spiffy-looking steelbook case, and an exclusive making-of Blu-Ray disc included. Not a bad deal at all.

KING’S EDITION

Lastly, and most coveted would be the King’s Edition. Not only do you get the items in the above mentioned editions, you will also get a Joe Hisaishi composed theme vinyl record, an exclusive 148-page art book featuring concept art by Yoshiyuki Momose and LEVEL-5, and a gorgeous 20cm tall Evolution of a King diorama figure with rotating scenes, that is also a music box that plays the game’s main theme!

We suggest you get to pre-ordering now at your favourite local retailers (like Qisahn) and expect to pay a pretty penny if you are gonna get the King’s Edition. One thing for concern though, is the Season Pass. There has been little information revealed yet about the Season Pass, although it is supposed to have two additional pieces of content. Save your money if you want to wait and see what you are getting before taking the plunge.

DAY ONE EDITION

For other parts of the world, they would be getting a different set for Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom. The Day One Edition will net you the game and the DLC of a Special Sword Set of 5.

PREMIUM EDITION

The Premium Edition will net you the same DLC, a Music CD Collection, a 3D PaperCraft Kit, the steelbook case, and housed in the Premium Edition packaging.

DIGITAL DELUXE EDITION

The Digital Deluxe Edition will net you the Special Sword Set of 5, the Season Pass, the exclusive Dragon’s Tooth weapon, an exclusive theme, and five exclusive avatars for your profile.

COLLECTOR’S EDITION

Buyers of the Collector’s Edition will net you the above rewards, in addition to The Making of Ni no Kuni II Blu-Ray, a Ni no Kuni II Visual Arts Book, a Lofty Plush, and a Chibi Mechanical Rotating Diorama. All packaged in a special Collector’s Edition packaging!

Whew, there are certainly plenty to consider if you are getting one of the more hotly-anticipated RPGs of this generation, hopefully you are early and already have your preferred edition locked. Now all we have to do is wait for January 18, 2018!

Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom will release on January 18, 2018 for the PlayStation 4 and PC.
