If September 6 is too long a wait for you to get your Destiny 2 fix, then you will be glad to find out that the Destiny 2 Open Beta (weighing in at 12GB) begins tomorrow/tonight for those who have already pre-purchased the game via the PlayStation Network! More specifically, it starts on July 19, 1 AM (Singapore Time) and ends on July 24, 12 PM (Singapore Time). Those who have yet to buy in can join in from July 21 onwards.
Note: It appears that the Asia region has no such restrictions, everyone is welcome to play!
While this is by no means the final code for Destiny 2, players will be able to experience the following during the Open Beta:
- Play the opening story mission of the cinematic campaign
- Take on the enemy threat in a 3 player Cooperative Strike
- Put your competitive multiplayer skills to the test against others in 4v4 matches
- Fight solo, alongside your friends or match-make with other Guardians
