SpeechBubble: Celebrating Singaporean Comics

As with most places, the Singapore comic book scene is dominated with the incumbents Marvel and DC. SpeechBubble is looking to change all that by highlighting the Singaporean comic book scene in a month long celebration.

The event will showcase original artwork, books, memorabilia and more. But, it’s the various panels that you should be taking notes of if you’re interested to see how our various local creatives tackle this vast space. We’re pretty sure you’re gonna walk away inspired.

Taking place at the National Library, Geek Culture’s writer, Adan Jimenez, would also be making an appearance over multiple creator sessions to talk about what it takes to create your own literary world.

Joining him would be a vast list of creators such as:

  • Sonny Liew (The Art Of Charlie Chan Hock Chye)
  • Colin Goh (Orchard Road: The Restricted Zone, Dim Sum Warriors)
  • Morgan Chua (LKY: Political Cartoons, In Memory Of Madam Kwa Geok Choo)
  • Andrew Tan (he does plenty of PSA artworks around Singapore)

This list is not exhaustive so head on down to the main website for a full rundown of all the happenings.
