Singapore’s Razer Cuts Into Mobile Market with the Razer Phone…But Not at Home

With its upcoming IPO still fresh on the minds of the tech world, gaming lifestyle company Razer has taken another step to make the company even more attractive to investors by unveiling the Razer Phone! An Android smartphone, this new device boasts “groundbreaking audiovisual technologies and processing muscle that takes personal entertainment to the next level.”

Equipped with the world’s first ever 120 Hz UltraMotion™ display, the Razer Phone promises to deliver the swiftest of refresh rates and smoothest graphics seen on any smartphone in the current market. The UltraMotion’s adaptive refresh tech will help synchronise the GPU and display to eliminate image tearing/lag, while ensuring efficient power usage at the same time. All of these will be on display on a gorgeous 5.72-inch screen – a Quad HD IGZO LCD – that will bring images that are sharp and vibrant to life.

The Razer Phone will also be packing Dolby Atmos technology that provides true cinematic audio via its front-firing speakers with dual dedicated amplifiers. And if you are planning to utilise your state-of-the-art headphones, the THX-certified USB-C audio adapter with a 24-bit digital audio converter (DAC) will guarantee no loss of audio quality.

With the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 in the hood together with 8GB of RAM, this device will definitely perform on par, if not better, than its competitor phones. Users can also use the Razer Game Booster app to adjust preferences, while the Razer Phone’s “best-in-class thermal design reduces throttling to maximize power and performance.” Battery life is also helped by a 4,000 mAh battery, and should you need a quick charge, Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ will get you up and running in no time.

When it comes to the cameras, the Razer Phone has dual rear 12MP cameras that will be useful for any photographer with the dual-tone flash helping to make your subjects look natural always. The 64GB of expandable storage will hold plenty of photos and videos as well.

Housed in a sleek and modern-looking 8mm thin aluminum body, the Razer Phone certainly looks like a premium product, and with a retail pricing of US$699.99, that is definitely the case. While the Razer Phone will be launched in selected countries from November 17 onwards, fans in Asia will have to wait to get their hands on this latest Razer product.
