Batman v Superman bring their fight to Singapore

What sort of damage would a fight between Batman and Superman do to tiny Singapore? Fans of the upcoming film are going to find out, though not in the way you might expect.

In the run up to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which opens on 24 March, CapitaLand Mall is drumming up the hype in style across 16 of their malls across Singapore.

First up, we have the life sized statues of Battle Armour Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, all in classic poses waiting for fans to get up close and grab a selfie with them.

Oh, and in case you’ve read that these very statues have recently been unveiled in Hong Kong, think again. These three movie-accurate statues are different from their Hong Kong counterparts. Personally, I prefer the Batman here, who offers a more challenging stance as if he’s preparing for something. Compare Wonder Woman and Superman to the ones in Hong Kong, and let us know which you prefer.

Surrounding them would be plenty of other fringe events that the mall has set up. The biggest draw has to be the display of figures from Hot Toys, which all deserve a separate room in your home.

These are all on display at Bugis+, which also showcase two game booths that employ Xbox Kinects, for players to become either Superman or Batman who fight through individual challenges. The statues can be found on the Level 2 Atrium, from now till 3 April.

The 1:1 Scale Batmobile Replica

Clearly there wasn’t enough space at Bugis+ to contain the real awesomeness of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. What we have here is a 1:1 movie authorized replica of the new Batmobile, which looks like something that Hot Toys set up as part of their exhibit in Hong Kong.

The Batmobile will be making its rounds in Singapore and will start off with Clarke Quay from now till 20 March before rolling over to Westgate from 22 March to 7 April.

If you snap photos at both these locations, don’t forget to hashtag your images with #WhoWillWin, #BatmanvSuperman and #CapitaLandMalls to stand a chance to score movie passes to the movie.

Exclusive Collectibles. Collect them all!

The biggest kicker of this entire partnership would be exclusive mall collectibles that CapitaLand will be rolling out in conjunction with the movie.

With a purchase of S$180 in the same day at selected malls, shoppers will be able to redeem a miniature bust of our three superheroes, though there are four busts to collect. That’s right – Batman gets represented, twice. We kick things off with classic Batman and Wonder Woman. Do note the different malls that each bust will be exclusive to. There are small overlaps but make sure, in case you over spend.

Collect All 4 to Win a Trip to LA!

Collecting all four of these busts will not be in vain for the dedicated few will stand a chance to win a trip for two to Los Angeles and experience the Deluxe VIP Warner Bros. Studio Tour. Judging by the reviews online, it seems that the five hour tour might be totally worth it, if you’re the type who loves bumping into your favourite star while at lunch. Only in Hollywood I guess.

Or, you could bump into Ben Affleck himself.

There’s quite a bit going on as we are into the final weeks leading up to the movie. The sentiment online with regards to the show looks to be still divided, and we will definitely be giving our final verdict then.

Till then, the best thing to do would be to head on out and grab a selfie with Batman in his armoured suit.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens in cinemas nationwide on 24 March.
